Hi! I’m Jeremy Walker, PCC. I’m a certified professional life coach and I specialize in the use of polarities as a tool for helping my clients and their organizations discover new possibilities and navigate their most challenging problems.
My interest in self discovery and personal growth began at the age of fifteen while growing up in Ontario, Canada. It was primarily through creating art, connecting with nature and learning through relationships that I found inspiration that sparked my curiosity about who we really are and what what our true potential as humans might be.
During my twenty-five year career in software development and engineering leadership, I learned about what can get in the way of our true potential. Talent is important, but highly competent people (including me) still get stuck because of the subtle ways that reality doesn’t align to our expectations. Our tendency is to either fight against reality or run away. Both responses miss the learning opportunity and we continue to repeat our mistake.
Each time I have encountered this kind of obstacle in my own life, I have found that no matter what I try, nothing works until I discover a new way of seeing the deeper nature of the obstacle. Only when I become curious to know it, can it teach me the way through. When finally get it, I not only reach my destination intact, but I get bigger than I was before. With each level of wisdom, I can navigate more paradox and complexity. New possibilities come within reach!
I have always loved sharing my enthusiasm for personal growth with friends and co-workers, helping others to reach their highest potential. In 2017 I realized that I had come to enjoy it even more than making great software. I completed my certified coach training at Newfield Network in 2018 and began a full-time career as a life coach in 2019. I now hold a PCC credential with the ICF and I am accepting new clients through my private practice, or through Lyra Health.
As an ontological coach, I work with techniques to help you become a better observer of yourself, not only in the realm of thoughts but also emotions and body. Once we are able to see how our attitude and behavior arise from old stories we learned about ourselves and the world, from persistent moods, and from unconscious ways we inhabit our body, we can begin to loosen the grip that these elements have over our sense of reality. Through acceptance, mindful awareness, and practice that includes the linguistic, emotional, and somatic dimensions, we can learn new ways of being that over time, lead to deep transformation and real, lasting freedom from limiting beliefs.
When I’m not coaching, I am creating stained glass artwork, enjoying my family, and adventuring outdoors in the beautiful mountains near Boulder, Colorado.
