In ontological coaching, there isn’t a big difference between leadership coaching, life coaching, or coaching around a specific topic such as parenting, career or relationships. That’s because ontological coaching works at the deeper level of transforming your way of seeing and being, such that your way of doing naturally improves as well. As a result of our work together, you may become a better leader at the same time as improving your mental health and gaining more satisfaction in your marriage. With that in mind, all topics are welcome. Here are a few of my favorites:

Leadership

Learn to attend to your inner game as a means to achieve mastery of your outer game. Integrate the heart and mind and overcome the inner obstacles to creating a high performing, purpose driven culture that brings out the best in others. Discover how to cultivate sustainable motivation driven by a hunger for achievement and learning, lowering stress and increasing safety, engagement and joy in the workplace. Dare to love the people you work with and turn your organization into a vehicle for not only outstanding achievement, but also deep belonging and self-actualization.

Confidence and Creativity

Reclaim your power and shed the self-limiting beliefs that stop you from sharing your greatest gifts with the world. Escape the trap of imposter syndrome and over-valuing what others think. Restore a healthy balance between purpose and play, between your inner dreamer and realist. Move beyond the “shoulds” and live a deeply fulfilling life based on compassion and acceptance towards self and others.

Values Clarification

Break free from inherited values that no longer serve you. Discover and deepen your connection to your own authentic values, to the source of deep meaning within you that gives purpose to your life and dignity to your struggles. Develop wisdom and nuance to how you prioritize and handle competing values to navigate relationship conflict and improve your ability to handle more complex situations with confidence and grace.

Relationships and Family

Find deep love, intimacy and belonging without sacrificing who you really are. Establish the boundaries that allow you to sustain meaningful and well functioning relationships both personally and professionally. Learn to manage difficult relationships, resolve power struggles and navigate value differences wisely. Raise empowered children that want to respect you. Difficult situations such as cross-cultural relationships, blended families, divorce, and dealing with narcissists, toxic people and controlling parents are amongst my specialities.

Thriving with Autism

I was late diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum (ASD, Asperger’s) myself at age 45 and have personally struggled through many of the challenges that come with living on the spectrum in a culture that is neurotypically biased.

Much of the help available for people with autism tends to focus on improving relational skills, executive functioning, and other competencies that can be more challenging to learn with autism. Getting help with these outer aspects of autism certainly has its place, but if we limit ourselves to only seeing it as a problem of addressing behavioral issues so that we can live a normal life by outer measures, we are missing a very important aspect of success. Living a deeply fulfilling and happy life requires learning how to process and organize our internal experiences in a way that allows us to sustain a connection to what is deeply meaningful to us. Doing so presents some unique challenges for people on the autism spectrum, but as you might expect, people on the spectrum also have certain advantages when it comes to this inner work!

NEW for 2023: I facilitate Autism Circling Groups for growth-oriented adults on the autism spectrum who are looking for a safe space to deepen their capacity for connection with like-minded individuals. For more information and to inquire about join the next available group, see here for details.
